More and more people are expected to take “chadventures” – or volunteer-based breaks – in 2010, according to a new report.
The term has been coined to describe growing interest in the desire to combine adventure travel with raising money for charity and giving something back to a destination.
With the recession still biting, ABTA’s Travel Trends Report also predicts that holidaymakers will be attracted to Egypt, Turkey and Morocco, thanks to affordable luxury hotels and all-inclusive hotels enabling people to keep a lid on budgets.
Dubai will also be the place to go for bargain hunters after a financial crisis in the Middle Eastern hotspot has led to a fall in hotel prices.
The opening of the Wizarding World of Happy Potter attraction at Florida’s Universal Studios Islands of Adventure could also attract legions of fans to the US state from spring.
