Eurostar train misery

January 5th, 2010

Thousands of Eurostar passengers have been left stranded and delayed on both sides of the Channel after a weekend of train cancellations sparked by bad weather.

Services have been halted for a third day, with the company warning that it will take time to clear the backlog of stranded passengers.

Travellers are being advised to postpone their trip unless absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, a planned Christmas strike by British Airways cabin crew has been called off after a court ruled that a walk out was illegal.

Holidaymakers were due to face widespread disruption when staff voted to strike for 12 days from 22 December in a dispute over pay and job losses.
