Resolving Heathrow Airport Parking Problems
Talk about travel headaches! How is one to enjoy a trip when it can begin with so many hassles? I’m referring, naturally, to departing through Heathrow airport. The airlines advise us to arrive at least one hour before our flights, 2 hours for international flights, holiday flights or weekend flights, so we’re already heading out to the airport early. But that doesn’t even begin to take into account the complications of navigating your way among the many terminals, finding (and paying for!) Heathrow airport parking at the appropriate spot, and then gathering your luggage, your children, your tickets, ensuring your car is locked and making your way among the throngs to check in.
It is much easier to be dropped off right at the terminal. Yet there are only so many times that you want to impose upon a friend or neighbor for a ride, since that person will have to deal with the heavy traffic on M25 both into the airport and again on the way home. And with few places to actually pull over and stop around the terminals, you end up practically piling out of the car and retrieving your luggage while the vehicle is still moving. Plus, you’ll need to call in another favour for pick up at the end of your trip. And then of course you’ll need to make yourself available for the same favour when your friends travel. It all makes for a lot of driving to and from the airport.
Surely there must be a better solution, right? There is. It’s a service called “Meet and Greet.” It can’t clear up the traffic heading into one of the world’s busiest airports, but it can resolve your Heathrow airport parking problems. Meet and greet offers the ultimate in convenience: you simply drive your own vehicle to the terminal, and you can be met be a driver who will collect your car and bring it to nearby offsite parking. Surely you can envision the benefits. If you’re traveling with children, you don’t need to try to corral them through shuttles and connections between the parking garage and the gate. If you’re leaving for a short business trip, you don’t need to double your travel time with trips back and forth between the garage. Perhaps best of all, you won’t owe a friend the return favor of driving back to Heathrow for his trip. (Simply pass along the number of the car collection service!).
It won’t clear up the crowds inside the airport, but you can head off for your trip with one less hassle when you’ve got such a convenient resolution for the parking problem.
